Islamabad: The Supreme Court has ordered the restoration of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) within the stipulated time.
The apex court directed immediate action to recover the KCR land and sought help from Rangers and police to end the encroachment.
During the hearing of the case related to the restoration of circular railways in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, the Chief Justice asked the Secretary Railways why flyovers and underpasses were not constructed in the cities. Are underpasses being made for KCR? Your new minister has said that railways cannot run on the old system.
The Secretary Railways pleaded that KCR needs the help of the court otherwise accidents will happen every day. He said that recovering of lands and clearing of corridors was a major issue.
