SBP to hold a seminar under theme, “Emerging markets in world economy” on Monday

SBP reduces key policy rate by 200bps to 17.5 per cent

ISLAMABAD: State Bank of Pakistan will organize an event on the theme, “Emerging markets in the world economy” here on Monday at Marriott Hotel.

Christine Lagarde, Managing Director International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be the keynote speaker where as Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization will give an overview of economy, Spokesman of the SBP told APP.

The welcome address will be delivered by Governor State Bank of Pakistan Ashraf Mahmood Wathra.

Experts, economists, policy makers and members of the business community are scheduled to attend the event.

Experts on the occasion would highlight the policies and steps taken by the present government for the stabilization of national economy and achievement of government in the field of economy.

The participants of the seminar would also put forward their recommendations to the government and policy makers for further development of national economy for the socio economic prosperity of the country.

The Participants of the seminar would also share their experiences with reference to strengthening of national economy, economic growth in the country.
