State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched SMS services for issuance of fresh currency notes with collaboration of Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) to facilitate nationals before Eid-ul-Fitr.
SBP in recent declaration announced availability of fresh currency notes in nominated branches, e-branches of commercial banks while issuance of the currency notes via SMS services will be started on July 8, 2015.
Persons that are seeking new currency notes will have to send a SMS on 8877 with their computerised national identify card number and branch code of related bank. Two rupees would be charged per SMS for getting the service.
In case of registering complaints, SBP helpline could be contacted at 021-3245-5470 and 021-3245-5125 while official website address of SBP and PBA are (www.sbp.org.pk) and (www.pakistanbanks.org) respectively.
