KARACHI: Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Saeed Ahmad dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s allegations of involvement in money laundering, terming them baseless and fabricated.

In a statement, Saeed Ahmad said the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had contacted him of his own accord, offering him the position of Deputy Governor SBP.

“Ishaq Dar is an old friend of mine,” he said, adding that he is a foreign qualified professional and got his job on merit.

Saeed Ahmed asked Imran Khan to identify the accounts through which the alleged money laundering was conducted.

Imran Khan alleged that Saeed Ahmad had carried out money laundering for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
