ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, on Wednesday called upon United Nations to take notice of Narendra Modi’s ‘anti-Pakistan’ in Bangladesh.

Addressing the Senate session, Sartaj Aziz said that Narendra Modi statement regarding 1971 war was highly regrettable.

Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan wants good and friendly relations with its neighboring countries, adding that it also enjoys strong bonds of religious affinity with Bangladesh.

He said that India is sowing seeds of discord between Pakistan and Bangladesh but it would not succeed in this anti-Pakistan agenda.

Sartaj added that Pakistan believes in peaceful co-existence adding that such statements put a question mark on India’s sincerity to establish good neighbourly relationship with Pakistan.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bangladesh said he took part in Satyagraha movement in 1971 as he shared Bangladesh’s dream for liberation.

Referring to the Pakistani prisoners of war after the 1971 war, Modi said India released 90,000 soldiers, because it was only interested in the welfare and progress of Bangladesh.
