ISLAMABAD: As part of the country’s continuing diplomatic efforts towards mobilizing support for Pakistan’s application for the membership of Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, spoke over telephone with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the Adviser also contacted, over phone, the Foreign Ministers of New-Zealand, Murray McCully, and Republic of Korea, Yun Byung-se, to highlight Pakistan’s credentials for the NSG membership with a view to seek their support, a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here said.
His interlocutors expressed support for a non-discriminatory approach on NSG expansion to non-NPT states, the press release added.
