WASHINGTON: Japanese technological giant Sony has scaled its cloud-based game streaming service ‘PlayStation Now’ to Samsung TVs, which was previously limited to the company’s own products like PlayStation consoles and TVs.
The company in context to its promise which it did in December last year that ‘at some point in the future its game streaming service will be supported by Samsung smart TVs’, Sony has confirmed availability of ‘PlayStation Now’ game streaming on Samsung smart TVs in the United States and Canada.
The compatible smart TVs from Samsung will be the first non-Sony devices to support the cloud- games streaming service.
Its players will not require a PlayStation console however they will need a Dual Shock 4 controller to play games.
The ‘PlayStation Now’ library includes over 100 PlayStation3 games which can be streamed on demand.
To make subscription easy, Sony has launched a $19.99 per month subscription plan which lets members stream all the games they want in a month.
