Renowned spinner Saeed Ajmal will join back Worcestershire first time since his suspension by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for having an illegal bowling action.
Worcestershire chief executive David Leatherdale confirmed Ajmal’s return to New Road next month and expecting his arrival on June 2 after obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Ajmal is likely to join Worcestershire’s side for T20 Blast game against Northants three days later his arrival as he is available until July 7 but he could stay more if PCB needs him against Sri Lanka.
Worcestershire will have to manage their first two T20 Blast matches without the Pakistani spinner, however, Ajmal would be available for Championship matches against Warwickshire, Middlesex and Nottinghamshire.
