Islamabad: Sadiq Sanjrani beated opposition alliance and Pakistan Democratic movement (PDM) candidate Yousuf Raza Gilani in senate election,and Saadiq Sanjrani elected for Chairmen Senate.
98 out of 99 senators cast their vote in the election of chairmen senate while Jamaat-e-Islami senator Mushtaq Ahmed didn’t cast his vote.
Voters stamped on Gilani’s name which resulted that seven votes rejected.
A vote was rejected because the voters had stamped on both candidates name.
It is to be mention here that, In oppose of Yousuf Raza Gilani was Sadiq Sanjrani nominated by government, Earlier in the senate election on March 3 the Yousuf Raza Gilani was the opposition candidate from Islamabad and his opponent was Abdul Hafiz Sheikh of the Government.
