ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed on Thursday remarked that the rulers had distributed the government money as personal.

The Chief Justice was hearing a case concerning giving shares to employees under the Benazir Stock Employees Scheme.

Additional Attorney General Sohail Ahmed, during the hearing, argued that the government had decided to give 12 per cent shares of the public firms to the employees in 2009. Later when the government changed in 2013, the payment of profit to the employees was stopped and now the incumbent government has announced to terminate the scheme.

The Chief Justice observed that the government’s financial condition was unstable due to the same reasons. The rulers had distributed the public money as personal, he added.
