Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma broke his silence on the news of retirement from ODI cricket.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has denied rumours about his retirement soon after he called off the press conference following India’s recent victory in the ICC Champions Trophy final.
Talking about his retirement, Sharma said, “Friends, I would like to say that I am not retiring and people are spreading false rumours, go ahead and focus on cricket. ”
At the end of the final victory press conference, Rohit clarified his stance, saying, “I am not retiring from this format and do not spread any rumors. ”
Talking about India’s strategy during the Dubai tournament, Rohit described the role of spinners as important in the team’s success.
“When I came to know about playing the tournament in Dubai, we picked four spinners because the Dubai pitch had been used for cricket for a long time and where there was a lot of cricket, spinners could become match-winners. “
