In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 and reiterated that the people of Kashmir will render every kind of sacrifice in their struggle for securing their birthright to self-determination.
It was on this day in 1931 when the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside the Central Jail in Srinagar during the court proceedings against one Abdul Qadeer who had asked the Kashmiri people to defy the Dogra rule.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar, paying tributes to martyrs of 13th July, said that they with their blood created history and termed their martyrdom as milestone of the freedom movement.
He said they rendered their precious lives for a sacred cause and the ongoing freedom struggle is in sequence and a chain of the very mission commenced in 1931.
Illegally detained Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people of Kashmir had been struggling for their fundamental rights since July 13, 1931.
He said that the Kashmiris held a peaceful protest outside the Srinagar central jail but the Dogra forces opened firing on the protesters and killed 22 innocent people. He said that the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle and would give every type of sacrifice to accomplish the mission of their martyrs.
The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a meeting in Srinagar paying homage to the martyrs of July 13 said that these martyrs set base for Kashmir’s ongoing freedom struggle for freedom from the foreign occupation.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Mir Shahid Saleem addressing a meeting of his party in Jammu paid tributes to the martyrs of July 13 and said that the freedom struggle would be taken to its conclusion at all costs. He said pro-India parties are the main hurdle in the settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulam Nabi War and Ghulam Nabi Waseem in a joint statement in Srinagar paid glowing tribute to 1931 martyrs and reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue their struggle against all odds.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, in his statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of 13th July 1931 and reiterated that the martyrs’ mission would continue till complete success.
Chief patron of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, Advocate Ayoub Rathor and Wajahat Bashir Qureshi in their joint statement, paying tributes to the martyrs of July 13 reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end.
The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir in its statement in Srinagar paid rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 and demanded that the mission of the martyrs should be supported by all those who believed in fundamental freedoms of the people.
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in its statement in Srinagar paying tributes to the July 13 martyrs reiterated the pledge to take their mission to its logical conclusion.
