GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution to make the area an interim province.
Earlier, the GB session held under the chairmanship of deputy speaker Nazeer Ahmed. All the members from the opposition and treasury benches attended the session in which Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed presented a resolution to make GB an interim province. The resolution was unanimously approved after a voting.
The resolution says the GB be made an interim province without affecting the Kashmir issue.
It added that the the GB province be given representation both in the National Assembly and the Senate.
The resolution got approved from the advisory committee before moving in the GB assembly.
