Puppet authorities, in Indian occupied Kashmir, have detained dozens of resistance leaders and activists ahead of the protests against the US President Donald Trump’s decision of announcing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the protests after Friday prayers has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

While ailing APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani continues to remain under house arrest since 2010, the puppet authorities have placed Hurriyat leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi and Umar Aadil Dar under house arrest at their residences.

Many Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Yasin Attai, Syed Imtiyaz Haider and Muhammad Yousuf Butt were arrested late last night and lodged in Badgam police station.

On the other hand, the authorities imposed curfew-like restrictions in Srinagar on Friday morning to stop people from holding anti-India and anti-Israel demonstrations after Juma prayers.

Meanwhile, all gates of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, have again been locked by the occupation authorities this morning to prevent faithfuls  from entering the worship place while all roads leading to the historic mosque have been sealed.
