The death anniversary of legendary poet and writer Faiz Ahmed Faiz is being observed on Friday (20 November).
His literary work and poetry has influenced Urdu literature all over the world.
The government awarded country’s highest civilian award Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Faiz Ahmed Faiz in 1990 in recognition of his services in literature.
His poetry has been translated into several languages including Russian and English.
Several literary and social organizations have organized special functions to mark the day.
