Register votes in country likely to surpass 90.70 mln mark: ECP

ISLAMABAD: The number of total registered voters in the country are likely to cross 90.70 million mark after completion of second phase of voters lists verification process, an official sources in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said.  

Talking to APP, he said the updated Electoral Rolls (ERs) would be provided to District Election Commissioners in December this year.

He said the first and and second phases of ERs updation have been completed so far.

According to ECP, the country has a total of 90.31 million registered voters including 40.08 million female and 50.24 million male voters.

According to breakup, Punjab has a total 50.3824 million registered voters including 20.36 million female and 30.02 million male voters.

As many as 20.13 million registered voters are in Sindh including 8.99 million female and 10.11 million male voters.

Likewise Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a total of 10.34 million registered voters including 5.74 million female and 7.63 million male voters.

In Balochistan there are a total of 3.33 million total registered voters including 1.42 million female and 1.91 million male voters.

In Fata there are a total of 1,722,304 registered voters including 593,164 female and 1,129,140 male voters.

In Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), there are a total of 684,824 registered voters including 3,174,264 female and 370,560 male voters.

The total population of Rawalpindi is 3.51 million.

According to Preliminary Electoral Rolls (PERs), total registered voters in Rawalpindi district are 2.283 million including 1.231 million male and 1.056 female (voters).

A voter can check his/her vote location by sending SMS containing Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number to 8300.
