KARACHI: Former President and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Zardari on Sunday summoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to Dubai.
Following the Zardari’s order, the new Sindh CM cancelled his visit to his hometown Dadu and departed to Karachi from visiting Garhi Khuda Bukhsh.
It is expected for emergence of important decisions relating to extension of special powers to Rangers in Sindh during the upcoming meeting between PPP high-ups, sources said.
It should be mentioned here that Rangers’ special powers were dissolved after July 19 while extension in the powers is still being put in pending by the provincial government despite pressure of law enforcement agencies and the federal government.
On the other hand, the ruling political party in Sindh is insisting to restrict usage of special powers by Rangers’ within limits of metropolis Karachi instead of extending raids to interior parts of the province.
Sources added that the Sindh chief minister will leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) soon, where former President Zardari is currently staying.
During his visit to Larkana, Murad Ali Shah said that those involved in the corruption will not be forgiven at any cost.
The newly elected Sindh CM visited the graves of Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) founding leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
