Ramazan moon sighted in Pakistan, holy month to begin tomorrow

KARACHI: The moon of Ramazan has been sighted in Pakistan and the holy month will begin tomorrow (Sunday,  April 3).

Evidence of sighting of Ramazan moon was received in Lahore and Islamabad and zonal committees of these cities informed the Central Route Hilal Committee about the evidence.

The meeting of Central Route Hilal Committee was going on in Peshawar to observe the month of Ramazan, after which the chairman of Central Reute Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced the sighting of the new moon.

Today is the first day of fasting in the Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, while the holy month has also started in the United States, Australia, Russia and New Zealand.
