LONDON: Several Primary schools of London are forbidding students from fasting during the holy month Ramadan which begins next week.
The Barclay School and three other Lion Academy Trust schools sent a letter to parents on June 10 that Ramadan comes at the hottest time of year and at a particularly busy time of the school year which added sporting and other events.
Some in the British Muslim community, including the Muslim Association of Britain, criticised the decision and said that Islam itself has “sufficient and stringent rules” to protect children during Ramadan without help from the help.
