ISLAMABAD: Rain-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds is expected at scattered places in upper areas of the country while partly cloudy conditions to prevail in central parts during the next 24 hours.
Rainfall is forecast at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), FATA, Islamabad, upper Punjab Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal and Faisalabad divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at few places in south Punjab at Multan, Bahawalpur and D.G Khan divisions, Sukkur, Larkana, Quetta, Kalat, Zhob and Sibbi divisions.
An official of met office told APP that low pressure area lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas with its trough extending eastward. A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and may persist till Thursday.
In last 24 hours, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain with thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Peshawar, Kohat, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad divisions.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was Quetta (Samungli) 11mm, Sibbi 09mm, Zhob 02mm, in FATA, Parachinar 08mm in KP Kohat 02mm, Mirkhani, Peshawar A/P 01mm, in. Punjab Bahawalpur 03mm, Toba Tek Singh 01mm.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Tuesday remained Dadu 48 °C, Sh. Benazirabad, Jacobabad 47°C, R.Y. Khan, Noorpurthal, Sukkur, Padidan, Larkana, Moen-jo-daro 46°C. Islamabad 40°C, Lahore 44°C, Karachi 37°C, Peshawar 39°C, Quetta 30°C, Gilgit 33°C, Chitral 32°C, Hunza 26°C, Muzaffarabad 37°C, Murree 26°C, Skardu 28°C, Faisalabad 43°C, Multan 43°C, Hyderabad 42°C, Dir 33°C and Kalat 28°C.
