ISLAMABAD: Rain-dust thunderstorms with strong gusty raising winds are expected at scattered places of the country while hot and dry conditions will prevail elsewhere in the country.
Rainfall is expected at KP in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions, Islamabad, upper Punjab at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in south Punjab Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G Khan divisions, Northeast Balochistan Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi divisions, upper Sindh at Sukkur, Larkana and Hyderabad divisions.
A westerly wave is affecting upper and western parts of the country and likely to grip upper and central parts during next couple of days.
Low pressure area lies over northeast Balochistan and its adjoining area with its trough extending southeastwards, said an official of met office.
In last 24 hours, weather remained very hot and dry in most parts of the country.
However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at one or two places in Malakand, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir.
Rainfall recorded during this time duration remained Dir 29mm, Murree 08mm, Garhi Dupatta 03mm, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot 02mm and Balakot 01mm.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Tuesday remained Kot Addu 47 °C, R.Y.Khan, Dadu, Sibbi, Bahawalnagar 46°C, Turbat, NoorpurThal, Bhakkar, Bahawalpur, Sh. Benazirabad 45°C, Islamabad 38°C, Lahore 42°C, Karachi 35°C, Peshawar 38°C, Quetta 35°C, Gilgit 33°C, Chitral 32°C, Hunza 26°C, Muzaffarabad 32°C, Murree 27°C, Skardu30°C, Faisalabad 43°C, Multan 44°C, Hyderabad 38°C, Dir 29°C and Kalat 31°C.
