KARACHI: The intermittent rain has continued to shower most parts of Karachi on second day, causing power outages at scattered places in the metropolis and causing traffic jams due to slipper roads.
According to details, the power breakdown turned out to be nightmarish for the residents in Orangi Town, Site, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Landhi, Korangi, New Karachi and Sarjani Town.
Meanwhile, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar also visited various localities and expressed resentment over poor sewerage system as the standing water caused severe traffic jams at busy roads.
On the other hand at least four people died in rain-related incidents on Friday when the city received its first winter showers that brought down the temperature by three degrees Celsius during the day, according to officials and rescue workers.
In another incident, at least four people sustained severe wounds as roof of a house collapsed in Karachi.
The injured have been shifted to Clifton Zia-ud-Din hospital for further medical assistance.
Rainfall in Karachi varied from area to area according to the met office. PAF Masroor received 41, PAF Faisal 27, north Nazimabad 25, north Karachi 23, Model Observatory 19, Airport 13, Landhi 08, Gulshane Hadid 07). In other parts of Sindh and Balochistan Dadu received 11, Jacobabad 06, Larkana 05, Moen-jo-Daro 02, Balochistan: Dalbandin 22, Quetta (city 20, Airport 18), Sibbi 15, Barkhan 12, Ormara 11, Lasbela 04, Zhob 02 and Kalat 01
