Rahber Committee’s session held in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A session of Rahber Committee comprising leaders of religious parties and different seminaries was held in Islamabad under chair of Islami Tehreek (IS) chief Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi here on Tuesday.

Various prominent personalities belonging to seminaries and politico-religious parties attended the Rahber Committee’ session including Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq, JI Secretary General and President of Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) Liaqat Baloch, Professor Sajid Mir, Pir Abdur Raheem Naqshbandi, Pir Aejaz Hashmi, Allam Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Hafiz Akif Saeed, Pir Nasir Jameel Hashmi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazl-e-Aali Haqqani and others.

While addressing a press conference post meeting of the committee, Sirajul Haq said the session possessed historical importance in order to secure Islamic identity and ideology of Pakistan. He said all religious parties have aimed for struggling to maintain Islamic identity of Pakistan and its ideology as the country is not manor of a number of elites who are holding key position in the government. He clarified the governance system supported by the nation will only become superior across the country.

Siraj said the rulers were once again trying to cheat the nationals after Panama leaks instead of initiating an impartial investigation into the matter that had traumatised whole nation. The corruption gang will sell out whole country if the nation failed to bring an honest leadership. He added JI is against any genre of armed or unarmed terrorism and financial or political corruption.

JI Ameer said Rahber Committee made firm decision to stop rulers for envisaging policies in violation of Quran and Sunnah. He said the religious leadership will unite Pakistan and whole Muslim Ummah.

The senator said the committee also decided to hold meetings with ambassadors of all countries to end Saudi Arabia-Iran row as the conflict was generated by the elements involved in international-level arms dealing.

He expressed complete confidence over Pakistanis who always supported struggle by rejecting internal differences.

While talking to journalist, JI Secretary General and Chairman of steering committee comprising members of religious parties, Liaqat Baloch said all religious powers have made agreement to fight all moves being envisaged to dent the ideology of Pakistan. He added all religious parties agreed to play role of its side to fight against anti-Islam policies. Baloch said the Punjab government had secretly envisaged controversial women protection law over foreign pressure.

The religious powers decided to hold conferences in all major cities of Pakistan while the steering committee was also authorised to set dates of the upcoming events.

Professor Sajid Mir said all of them needed to struggle with unity to secure Islamic identity of the country and its nationals as it was the matter of ideology of Pakistan. He urged to fail all internal and external conspiracies against Islamic ideology of the country.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazl-e-Aali Haqqani said religious powers have always came on same page when the country faced any crisis. Pir Aejaz Hashmi said the powers have decided to spend whole life in accordance with teachings of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He asked the rulers to defend state religious of Pakistan while the country will also provide rights to the minorities.

While concluding the session, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said the set of decisions made during the Rahber Committee’s meeting was historical development for Pakistan which brought all religious parties on same page to continue struggle for saving Islamic identity of Pakistan.
