ISLAMABAD:  Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi intensified contacts with allied parties.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad had played a key role to pave the way for the peace dialogue between the Afghan Taliban and the US.

This has been stated by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, according to a Foreign Office statement issued here on Saturday.

He described the Afghan peace process as a complex issue, saying there was no military solution to the dispute.

Qureshi was of the view that the lasting peace in neighbouring Afghanistan will be useful for the entire region, including Pakistan.
