LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the Quetta tragedy called for a complete national unity for safeguarding national solidarity and integrity.
In a statement on return from a brief visit to Quetta, he stressed upon the Prime Minister to take the national leadership into confidence and bring them on one page. The shortcomings in the implementation of the NAP must be overcome and the weaknesses in the police and intelligence institutions should be removed.
The JI Secretary General said that the US and India could not digest the CPEC , therefore, all internal differences on the project should be overcome.
He said this was appropriate time for the political leadership to resolve the political, social and economic problems of the country and to hold an APC in Quetta.
He said that India was trying hard to divert the world attention from the prevailing situation in Kashmir. Therefore, diplomatic efforts should be intensified to highlight the Kashmir issue.
