Quetta hospital blast leaves 63 dead, several injured

At least 63 people were killed while over 50 sustain injuries in a blast at Civil Hospital Quetta on Monday.

The blast was heard after former president of Balochistan Bar Association Advocate Bilal Anwar Kasi was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Quetta.

As per details, the blast occurred when dead body of the former Balochistan Bar president arrived at the hospital. A huge number of lawyers were in the hospital at that time.

Reporters and camera men are among the injured and the dead.

Following the blast emergency was declared in the hospital while rescue work is underway as well.

Security teams and bomb disposal squad also reached the site and cordoned off the area.

The nature and cause of the blast is yet to be known.
