DIR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities concerned to complete disbursement of compensation for damaged houses in quake affected areas by 25th of this month.
He was addressing quake affected people at Panakot in Upper Dir on Thursday afternoon where he also distributed cheques among them. The Prime Minister compensation is being paid on priority basis for rebuilding of houses in view of onset of winter and the resultant difficulties of the people.
He said instructions were issued for payment of cash grant of six hundred thousand to heirs of each of those killed in the quake and hoped that the process would have been completed by now. The Prime Minister assured quake affected people that the Federal Government would take every possible step to mitigate their sufferings and help them stand on their own feet.

Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif attended a briefing about the damages caused by earthquake and rehabilitation process in Upper Dir on Thursday afternoon. He was told that twenty people were killed and one hundred sixty-two injured due to quake in Upper Dir.
He was informed that all these people have been provided compensation amount. He was told that payment of compensation to those whose houses were damaged is in progress. This process will be completed before 27th of this month under the directives of Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister was informed that five hundred fifty million rupees have been distributed among the affected families besides distribution of huge quantity of food items, tents and blankets. Earlier, the Prime Minister offered fateha for those died in the earthquake and early recovery of the injured.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid, Advisor to Prime Minister Ameer Muqam and MNA Sahibzada Tariqullah were also present on the occasion.
