MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a lifetime immunity bill for former presidents.

According to foreign media, President Putin signed a bill of immunity to protect former Russian presidents from life imprisonment, which would allow former presidents to become members of the upper house for life once they leave the presidency.

According to media reports, the new law is part of President Putin’s political reform measures in the country this year, which allow him to serve two more six-year terms if he so chooses.
