LAHORE: A convicted prisoner executed in Kot Lakhpat Jail of Lahore on early morning of Wednesday (today).
The death row prisoner, Zulfiqar Ali , was hanged till death this morning at the gallows for killing two people in 1998.
He had shot dead the duo during his robbery attempt in Islamabad. Ever since, he had been in police custody.
He was executed after Lahore High Court, Supreme Court of Pakistan and president had rejected his clemency appeals.
Pakistan lifted the moratorium on death penalty on Dec. 17, a day after Pakistani Taliban gunmen attacked Army Public School in Peshawar and killed 134 students and 19 adults.
