Punjab govt decides to arrest Sheikh Rasheed: media report

LAHORE: Punjab government has reportedly decided to arrest Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, a private news channel reported on Thursday.

The report said that the decision was made by Punjab authorities following Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad’s announcement to lockdown Rawalpindi on October 30.

While talking to the news channel, Sheikh Rasheed said that he would continue to protest against the government as per schedule despite his arrest orders.

Earlier, the AML chief had faced set back when he was served a notice by ‘Matrooka-Waqf Imlak‘ (Evacuee Trust Property Board) to vacate Lal Haveli, his residence, within next 15 days.

Responding to the official notice, that the government will not be able to hide its face if he shows documents proving his ownership of Lal Haveli. He had also announced to take the matter to court and has also contacted his legal team over the matter.
