The road leading to the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi has been blocked with containers in Rawalpindi.

Containers have also been placed before the Adiala prison where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, remains incarcerated.

Additional police force has been deployed outside jail’s vicinity, with the road leading to it from Gorakhpur also closed with security placed on high alert.

The government has ensured additional deployment of police, Rangers and Frontier Corps personnel at the D Chowk in Islamabad as protestors rally towards the city’s crucial location.

Meanwhile, roads leading to the D Chowk have been closed with barbed wire.

Police have ensured the availability of 2000 shells of tear gas at Islamabad’s Chongi no 26 as a measure to deal with the potential crowd of protesters, set to stage a demonstration in the federal capital.

The law enforcers said that Operations senior superintendent of police (SSP), Safe City SSP and CIA superintendent of police (SP) arrived at Chongi no 26, while the markets present nearby were also ordered to close.
