ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday announced that his political party would not take part in contest on vacant seat of slain Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada martyred in Attock incident.
Imran Khan in his Twitter message said that ‘Out of respect for shaheed Shuja Khanzada PTI will not put up a candidate for the bye election in his constituency,’. He expressed deep sorrows over unfortunate death of Shuja Khanzada in the suicide attack.
He said, ‘I strongly condemn the suicide attack on Punjab Home Minister’s Dera and pray for the survivors and those still under the rubble, including the Minister,’ “He was one of the founding members of PTI and travelled with me in the early days galvanizing people,” he recalled.
Imran said that PTI stood firm with the nation against all genre of terrorism.
It should be mentioned that slain Colonel retd Shuja Khanzada of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was an elected Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) in Punjab’s PP-16 (Attock-II) constituency and it served as provincial home minister of Punjab.
