ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has on Friday challenged delimitation of Islamabad for fast approaching local government elections in the city.

PTI leader Saifullah Niazi , filed the petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC). He said delimitation of the federal capital city by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was not according to law.

‘The ECP divided Islamabad’s union councils into wards for municipal elections ignoring equal number of voters,’ he said.

The PTI leader has demanded new delimitation for UCs in Islamabad. Meanwhile, PTI central leader Asad Umar said that laws were violated in the delimitation. ‘The division of wards is not as per population. Some wards carry dozens and some have thousands of registered voters,’ he said.
