It may be recalled that while talking to a private TV channel, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari said that it has been decided to convene a meeting after consulting the lawyers. The meeting of the Punjab Assembly will be held at 7.30 pm.

Dost Mohammad Mazari said that the election of Punjab Chief Minister will also be held today. Pervaiz Elahi and Hamza Shehbaz will contest for the slot of Punjab chief minister.

Earlier on Sunday, the deputy speaker adjourned the session of the Punjab Assembly under a ruling only after a few minutes.

The deputy speaker justified the worst commotion in the assembly session and adjourned the Punjab Assembly session till April 6.

The meeting of the Punjab Assembly lasted only 6 minutes due to which neither voting for the election of the new Chief Minister could take place today nor a no-confidence motion could be moved in the Punjab Assembly against the Speaker.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri has termed the no-trust motion as violation of the Constitution.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, while rejecting the no-confidence motion, stopped the ruling and adjourned the sitting till March 25.

In a tumultuous session of the National Assembly chaired by Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, Law Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that a meeting is held on March 7 and a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister was presented on March 8 a day later.

Fawad Chaudhry said that our ambassador is summoned to a meeting on March 7, in which officials of other countries also sit. Our ambassador is informed that a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan is being filed. Until then no one in Pakistan knew that the no-confidence motion was coming.
