Balochistan govt forms JIT over PTC Quetta massacre

QUETTA: Balochistan government on Thursday announced formation of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) under supervision of Brigadier Bilal Ali to probe into terror attack on Police Training College (PTC) Quetta.

The JIT will comprise representatives of Frontier Corps (FC), concerns agencies, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Investigation under supervision of Brigadier Bilal Ali.

CM Sanaullah Zehri also made formal request to Balochistan Chief Justice to hold judicial inquiry of the PTC Quetta incident.

Moreover, the provincial government suspended number of high-level police officials following orders of Chief Minister over negligence on their duties after initial inquiry report.

The suspended police officials include Commandant PTC Captain retd. Tahir Naveed, Deputy Commandant PTC Yameen Khan, Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Headquarters PTC Muhammad Ajmal.

Earlier, at least 62 people had been killed and more than 160 left wounded in a coward terrorist attack on Police Training College Quetta on last Monday.
