KARACHI: Al-khidmat Foundation Secretary General Engr. Abdul Aziz has said that provision of potable water to poor masses is among the priorities of the foundation as it has become a grave issue across the country in general and Sindh province in particular.
He expressed these views on Friday while inaugurating a reverse osmosis water filtration plant at the North Nazimabad area. Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Younous Muhammad Bashir inaugurated the plant. Speaking on the occasion, Engr. Abdul Aziz said that the Al-Khimat is recognized and regarded not only in Pakistan but across the globe. He added that some 14 water filtration plants are being installed across the city with the help of Japan.
Engr. Naeem added that the foundation has been serving in seven major departments of the society. He said that Alkhidmat manages marriage ceremonies, provides rescue services, rehabilitation, free education and health services. He further said that along in the health sector, 53 projects are being run under Alkhidmat. Five major hospitals, blood bank are among the facilities, being provided to Karachiites. He said that the foundation also facilitates 5000 orphans, besides providing livelihood to a large number of needy people.
Younis Bashir also praised the services of Alkhidmat and stressed the need for joint efforts to eliminate poverty. He said that the foundation has been serving the society in letter and spirit. He also presented his recommendations to the Alkhidmat Foundations and assures for his support. Karachi Houston Sister City Association Majeed Abdul Aziz said that the organizations like Al-Khidmat and HHRD are rendering those services, which should be provided by the government.
He pleaded masses to support Alkhidmat Foundation so as to eliminate poverty and miseries of poor people. Fazalur Rehman of Helping Hand Relief and Development (HHRD) on the occasion praised the services of Alkhidmat for the society.He vowed to continue joint efforts to facilitate under privileged areas. and said that they are intended to install a network of potable water with the help of Alkhidmat Foundation.
