Provincial minister’s brother killed in grenade attack in Lyari

KARACHI: A grenade attack on office of provincial minister of Katchi Abadis Javeed Nagori late on Saturday night killed his brother and injured three others, police said.

According to the police, unidentified assailants hurled the grenades  on the office of the minister near Shah Wali Ullah Road in Lyari injuring brother of Javeed Nagori , Akbar Nagori and three others which include two guards of the minister and a police sub-inspector, however the minister remained unhurt in the attack.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital where minister’s brother was succumbed  to his injuries. Other remaining injured inculde Jehanzaib Balooch, Tahseem Baloch and the police sub-inspector Saleem are in stable condition.

On receiving information of the attack,  Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Dr Jameel reached the hospital and condemned the attack. He said that the attack was might be reaction on  Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) arrests of 32 Lyari gangsters in last 30 days.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has sought a report from the police into the attack.
