ISLAMABAD: Federal government after a delay of six months on Thursday appointed a prosecutor for MQM leader Imran Farooq murder case.
Dr. Imran Farooq, a founding member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was murdered in September 2010 outside his home in Green Lane, Edgware, in north London, while returning to home from work place.
The government has named Waseem Ranjha as FIA prosecutor after remaining dormant for six months. The murder trial will begin from October 20 at the anti-terrorism court of Rawalpindi.
The FIR of the murder was registered with Director Counter Terrorism Inaam Ghani as complainant of the case.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has named Mohsin Ali as the main accused in its charge-sheet and Moazzim Ali and Khalid Shamim as facilitators in the murder case.
