A professor was gunned down on Monday at Delta State University in Mississippi located in Cleveland while shooter is reportedly still at large.
The varsity remained locked down as authorities commenced a search operation for a possible active shooter still present in the campus.
The shooter remains at-large, the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department said, adding it had no immediate description of any possible suspect, foreign news agency reported.
The Bolivar County Coroner said the victim was a professor at the school, which is near the Arkansas-Mississippi state line.
More than 4,000 students are enrolled at the Delta State University in Mississippi, located 120 miles (193 km) northwest of Jackson, Mississippi.
