ISLAMABAD: Standing Committee of the National Assembly on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination at a meeting held Monday with Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA in the chair expressed grave concern over the sale of sub-standard/un-registered stents in the government hospitals and directed that the Ministry may coordinate with the investigating Agencies in order to bring the culprits behind the bars. The Committee directed that ministry may ensure the usage of auto disable syringes in all over the country as well.
The Standing Committee discussed the proposals of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the financial year 2017-18 and unanimously passed the budgetary proposals of M/o National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination of the upcoming financial year. It also directed the authorities to ensure completion of ongoing projects before initiating new projects and also ensure timely completion of new projects in order to avoid financial losses.
The Committee observed that policies were confined to papers only as their implementation seemed to be invisible at gross root level especially in remote and far flung areas of the country. The Committee therefore, directed that policies might be devised keeping in view the ground realities instead of estimated figures to bring their benefits at gross root level and ministry may develop a proper working relationship with the provinces so that policies could be implemented in real sense.
