LAHORE: Prices of ghee and edible oils will increase from Rs13 to 18 per kilograms/litres from July 1 in the country.
This was announced by the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) Chairman Abdul Waheed.
He said that prices of ghee and edible oils of various brands would increase from Rs13 to 18 per kg/litre as per their respective retail rates.
He described the imposition of tax upto Rs18 in the budget and rupee depreciation by Rs5 against the dollar as reasons behind the jump in ghee and edible oil prices.
It may be mentioned here that at present the federal government had been charging Rs90 per kilograms/litres on edible oil and ghee that highest in the region.
