ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have felicitated the nation on Independence Day emphasizing forging unity in their ranks to achieve the very objectives of the creation of Pakistan.
In their messages on the occasion, they said Allama Iqbal had dreamt of an independent and sovereign Muslim state and the great leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah materialised this dream.
The President said we should remember those who sacrificed everything for the sake of freedom.
He stressed the need for complete unity and harmony for the development and progress of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said 14th of August is a day of self-accountability and we should learn from our past mistakes due to which we were left behind other nations.
He said we are determined to root out the menace of terrorism and operation Zarb-e-Azb reflects our commitment.
Nawaz Sharif urged the people to continue struggle to make Pakistan strong and prosperous with the power of faith, unity and discipline.
