ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have felicitated their Chinese counterparts on 67th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
In their separate messages to the Chinese counterparts, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also wished them good health and happiness and continued peace and progress for the people of China.
In his message President Xi Jinping, President Mamnoon Hussain conveyed heartfelt felicitations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan as well as his own.
He said Pakistan and China were iron brothers and enjoyed unshakeable friendly relations based on mutual respect and common perceptions on many regional and international issues.
The President said unfolding of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has heralded a new era of enhanced bilateral cooperation in the relationship, leading to mutual development and prosperity.
“I am confident that the existing bonds of friendship between our two fraternal countries, will go from strength to strength, and our all-weather strategic partnership will continue to serve the interests of our two peoples and the cause of peace, stability and prosperity,” he observed.
President Mamnoon said in recent years, China achieved remarkable progress in transforming the lives of its people.
He expressed the confidence that under Xi’s inspiring and untiring leadership, the Chinese people would attain even greater heights of glory and realize the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in his message to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, said the iron brotherhood of Pakistan and China reflected close cooperation, mutual trust and complete understanding of each other’s interests.
“Our peoples stand together in protecting and promoting our shared values of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence,” he added.
The Prime Minister noted that the unprecedented success story of the Pakistan-China friendship has entered a new chapter with the implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“I am confident that this initiative will take our strategic partnership to towering heights, and bring development, stability and prosperity to our peoples and our region,” he added.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the two countries always stood by each other in regional and international fora and have together contributed towards peace, security and stability within the region and across the world.
He expressed his confidence that their mutually beneficial cooperation would continue to grow in the days to come.
