President Mamnoon arrives in AJK to address Legislative Assembly

MUZAFFARABAD: President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain Friday arrived here on a three-day visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, during which he would address the joint sitting of Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council besides other engagements.

On arrival at the helipad, he was received by President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, Speaker Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir, Senior Minister Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Chief Secretary Sikander Sultan, Inspector General ofPolice (IGP) Basheer Memon and other high officials.

Soon after his arrival, he called on different delegations and exchanged views on matters of mutual interests while AJK President Masood Khan hosted a dinner in his honor at the hotel, where he was staying.

The President would address Joint sitting of AJK Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council on Saturday, which had been convened to discuss the prevailing circumstances in Indian-held Kashmir. Beforethis, he would be presented a guard of honor on his arrival at Assembly Secretariat by a smartly turned out contingent of AJK Police.

Later, the President would meet ministers of AJK government and members of the Legislative Assembly and attend a lunch hosted by the speaker Legislative Assembly in his honor at the assembly compound.

On Sunday before leaving for Islamabad, he would meet a delegation of the representatives of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) AJK chapter and discuss the prevailing situation in Indian-held Kashmir in detail.
