KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari here on Monday said that he salutes the Pakistan Army soldiers who valiantly fought against the terrorists during Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
While addressing the passing out parade at Razzaqabad Police Training Centre in Karachi, Mr, Zardari said that the country benefited largely from the Zarb-e-Azb operation.
The former President saluted the martyrs of Sindh police by saying that martyrs never die and their sacrifices are commendable.
He also urged the authorities to provide facilities to the families of the martyrs.
Zardari claimed that crime rate in the province has decreased for which the credit goes to Sindh Inspector General (IG).
Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah while speaking on the occasion said that advanced weaponry is needed for the Elite Force for which the federation was asked. He said that the government will make the Elite Force an undefeatable force by providing them advanced weapons and modern training.
The CM said that the Sindh Police arrested the criminals behind Safoora massacre in as many as four days.
Senator Sherry Rehman and Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial also attended the passing out parade along with others.
At least 700 police officials while as many as 380 police personnel participated in the ceremony. At least 40 women personnel were also passed out with the batch. Zardari was the guest of honour in the ceremony. He urged the government to give salaries to the families of the security forces martyrs and jobs to their children.
