UPPER DIR: Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) candidate Sahibzada Sanaullah has defeated Malik Azam of Jamaat Islami (JI) in Upper Dir PK-93 by-election according to unofficial, unverified results.
According to details, Sahibzada Sanaullah picked 21,788 votes while the runner-up Malik Azam could only manage to secure 14,617 votes.
Sanaullah won by a margin of 7171 votes while the turnout remained around 34%.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and Qaumi Watan Party were backing the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate while Pakistan People’s Party candidate had the support of ANP, JUI-F and PML-N.
