PPP to decide on military courts after legal consultation: Bilawal

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Saturday said that is party will decide its stance on the issue of military courts after consulting its legal experts.

Talking to media after multi parties conference, Bilawal said that apart from military courts, integration of the FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the implementation of the National Action Plan were also discussed in the meeting.

He said that consensus was not reached on the extension to be granted to military courts.

The PTI chairman called for the immediate merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that it would be great injustice if it will be delayed.

He said that the government had failed completely in implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) and displayed gross criminal negligence in handling the issues under it.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were not in attendance at the multiparty conference, while the ruling PML-N was not invited.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed of the Awami Muslim League (AML), Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Maulana Fazlur Rehman of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), and other heads of political parties attended the meeting.
