KARACHI: General Secretary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP Sindh), Senator Taj Haider on Thursday said that PPP will support CNG six seater and Qingqi rickshaw drivers in acceptance of their just demands.

In a meeting with delegation of All Karachi CNG Auto Rickshaw Owners Welfare Association, he said PPP can not leave the labourers and daily wagers alone in fight for their just rights.

This, he said is all the more important as these rickshaws are also a source of livelihood for approximately 35,000 people in Karachi only, said Taj.

PPP fully endorse the just demands of the owners and drivers of the CNG run auto rickshaws that are not only environment friendly but also a cheap source of public transport, Haider said.

It must be remembered that that a bench of the High Court of Sindh on August 5, 2015, imposed ban on running Qingqi rickshaws in Karachi and other areas of Sindh in its verdict over several petitions declared running of these rickshaws a violation of Motor Vehicle Rules 1969.
