MIRPUR: Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) has announced to contest the forthcoming general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
President AJK Chapter of PPP (SB) Munir Hussain Chaudhry Advocate stated this while talking media persons. He said his party would field its candidates in all 49 constituencies of the AJK Legislative Assembly election which would be held in July this year.
“The party’s high command has formally okayed to participate in the AJK elections”, Munir said added that the party’s top leadership including Chairperson Ghanwa Bhutto, Secretary General Dr. Ghulam Hussain and Ms. Fatima Bhutto, eminent writer and granddaughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto will visit Azad Jammu Kashmir soon after the announcement of the elections schedule to address the public rallies to be held for electioneering of the party’s candidates.
Munir underlined that the meritorious services of the family of shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for the Kashmir cause – especially Kashmiris right to self determination, were crystal clear. He said that time has come to contribute due share by the PPP (SB) to give an impetus to Kashmiris indigenous struggle for freedom of the motherland from the clutches of the Indian yoke besides to revive the good governance in the administrative set up of Azad Jammu & Kashmir through coming of the PPP (SB) in to power in the region, he added.
Lashing out at the sitting PPP-led government in Azad Jammu Kashmir, the PPP (SB) AJK President alleged that the remnants of Asif Ali Zardari broke all records of massive corruption in Azad Jammu Kashmir through massively misusing the legacy of Bhutto. He vowed to eliminate the evil forces in the ruling clique responsible of the ongoing bad-governance in AJK, from the political horizon of the state in the forthcoming general elections to the State Assembly.
Munir Hussain Chaudhry said that only sincere and capable educated candidates, sincere to Kashmir cause and the people of the state, would be fielded by the PPP (SB) in the polls in order to permanently close down the doors of massive corruption, malpractices and irregularities, allegedly committed by the sitting PPP-led government of AJK Prime Minister Ch. Abdul Majeed at the behest of Zardaris, he added.
He said that parliamentary party of PPP (SB) will soon summon applications from the intending suitable candidates to contest the upcoming AJK elections.
