Polling kicks off in PS-67 Mirpurkhas

Polling time has started in by-polls of PS-67 Mirpurkhas which would continue till 5:00pm today. Tough competition is anticipated between the candidates of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-F on this seat.

Nine candidates are participating in the contest including Noor Bhargari of PPP, Ghulam Qadir of PML-F, Waqas Qaimkhani of MQM and Shafqat Shah of PTI.

The constituency of PS-67 includes the areas of Kot Ghulam Muhammed tehsil of Mirpurkhas, district Umerkot, Pathoro and some parts of Shadi Pali.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the number of registered voters in the constituency are 137, 171, while 104 polling stations have been established in the constituency for the by-polls. Strict security arrangements have been made by the law enforcement agencies to avoid any untoward situation.

The seat became vacant after the demise of PPP’s Jameel Ahmed Bhargari.
